Title:Instructions for Installing the Advanced NetWare/G Remote
Reset Board and Using the GINSTALL Program.
This document will guide you through some simple steps to install
your Remote Reset Hardware. It is assumed that you are already
familiar with the GINSTALL utility which is described in your System
Guide in Appendix A. It may also be useful to read the short section
in Appendix A entitled "Installing Advanced NetWare/G "Remote
System Reset" Hardware.
--If you have a PC/LNIM with a revision of 02 or less . . .
Run the GINSTALL program to configure your copy of
NIMLOAD.BIN using the correct PC/LNIM version. When
GINSTALL is finished running it will list the possible base
memory locations. Address D0000 MUST not be used with
Remote System Reset. Use any of the other locations listed.
Base Address. All other parameters are dependant upon your
installation. Set the addresses on your Remote Reset Board and
your PC/LNIM board according to the switch setting given to
you by GINSTALL. You may now proceed to run DOSGEN with
your configured NIMLOAD.BIN file.
--If you have a PC/LNIM with a revision of 03 or greater . . .
Run the GINSTALL program using the option for a "02 or earlier
board" and use any of the listed base memory locations except
D0000. All other parameters are dependant upon your
installation. Set the address on your Remote Reset Board
according to the switch setting given to you by GINSTALL. The
NIMLOAD.BIN configured in this step is not used.
Run the GINSTALL program to configure your copy of
NIMLOAD.BIN using the the option for "03 or greater" and use
any of the listed Base Memory Addressed except D0000. All
other parameters are dependant upon your installation. Set the
address on your PC/LNIM according to the switch setting given
to you by GINSTALL.
Then proceed to run DOSGEN with your configured
NIMLOAD.BIN file.
